I trusted your promises.
I let you in.
When your promises turned out
to be only lies.
I couldn’t leave,
could not even yell.
Just held you.
You hate me, now, for what?
Do you blame me
for believing in you?
Was that my great crime?
You see me hurt
and like a shark near wounded fish,
the feeding frenzy begins.
I let you in.
When your promises turned out
to be only lies.
I couldn’t leave,
could not even yell.
Just held you.
You hate me, now, for what?
Do you blame me
for believing in you?
Was that my great crime?
You see me hurt
and like a shark near wounded fish,
the feeding frenzy begins.

Hullo. ^_^ Thank you for commenting on one of my poems several days ago. My first time here on your blog. And, as is my wont, I read all your poems on this page. Hee.
Allow me to cite my faves, and quote lines that captivated me:
*Defenses
... the rogue who dared to scale
the stone walls of your surface smile
*Illusions
I had all the intellect of a roll of canvas
To have believed that smile was meant for me.
*Brides by Design
The rhyme here really worked for me. And kudos for its originality.
*Out of Reach
I live in a room, plush and perfect,
where the splinters of my own need
prick my lonely heart to bits
and the only gift I want, dances out of reach.
*Bonsai
Now, this is really good! Especially this part:
I will define which way I grow.
I will reach, lean, curve my own way.
I will take this simple existence
And, within these humble confines,
I will make of myself something beautiful.
*(Untitled -- March 21, 2005)
Such a sound piece of advice here:
Never neglect your hellos.
because there is rarely a chance
for goodbyes
before the vanishing.
*Truth and Poetry
Now this is just pure wisdom:
To see the beauty of anything
you must first observe its faults.
And, at the very top of the list:
*Death of a Poet and *Heavy Fingers. All four stanzas of each... absolutely beautiful. ^_^
Till the next sojourn, then. Do write more. Dream well...
