Retreat

Give me darkness and shadows deep.
Envelope me in steady sleep,
Free of thoughts in which I drown,
Without a mirror to be found.
Swallow me whole, sweet swathes of clothing.
Expose not an inch of my self-loathing.
Wrap me in thick black night itself.
Hide me from my worthless self.
