when words come,
though, rarely do they grace my ears.
Eyes say volumes,
or do mine misread

Hmmm.... do you think the meaning of the third line is still clear? Also, does it read smoothly?
anyone have opinions? What does everyone think?
As for the last line; why do you prefer "what" to "when"? Just curious.
